Good Day on Saturday.

"Ladies, You CAN'T Be First, But You CAN Be Next!

Ric Flair again!  LOL.  He is/was such a character.  Flair paved the way for many of the young wrestlers in the modern era.  NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE talked as much smack as Ric Flair.  Long before The ROCK, or Stone Cold Steve Austin, or Hulk Hogan, no one worked the crowd or gave an interview like The Nature Boy- Ric Flair.  A Living legend.

Today is Sunday, and I am just now getting caught up on my blog.  We scrimmaged yesterday, and it was a good day..........for the defense.  The offense struggled for most of the day.  The defense pinned their ears back and came after us with lots of pressure.  I thought Jefferson's  D-Line played exceptionally well, and Miller's  LB's had a good/great day too.  Perry's DB's are really special.  Of course, I like ALL the kids on our team, but I am going to write a little about two of them....Javonte and Bookie (both Seniors)  When we first got these two players, they were small and skinny freshman.  When we first got the boys, I played BOTH of them as Wingbacks on the offense,  and Perry used them both on Defense.  At the time, we were pretty deep at running back, so Bethel and Perry decided to groom them as full-time defensive backs as 10th Graders.  Sure, they took their lumps....early, but they have matured into fantastic athletes.   Bookie's last name is TAYLOR, and he comes from a long line of GREAT ATHLETES at SRHS (Larry, DK, and Chris)  He has those typical Taylor skinny legs; consequently, this kid is also extremely fast.  Bookie can play anywhere you ask him (safety-corner-LB) and he will hit you like a freight train.  Javonte's last name is KING, and again, he comes from a long line of great athletes as well.  If you was to Google "Football Safety" Javonte's picture would probably come up.  If I had to guess, I would say Javonte is 6'1" and about 190 Lbs and he also will hit you like a beast.    Both of these kids are VERY coachable, and any college coach would be thrilled to have either one of these boys. I think Javonte and Bookie will anchor our defense this year.  I do a lot of laughing and joking with both these kids, and it seems like Javonte is always laughing at something I said.  These are both QUALITY kids who will help us on the other side of the ball as well.

It is not unusual for the defense to be a little ahead of the offense at this point of the year.  I may be a little aggravated, but I am not worried in the least.  The Offense timing must be in sinc for us to be successful....and this will only happen with offensive reps.  Our offense is complicated; naturally, our kids have so much to learn. Many of the newer kids are unsure of their assignments right now.  When a player is unsure, he plays slower because he is thinking too much. Just the smallest thing (such as QB steps) can mess up the timing of an entire play.  We are going to get there I promise....We always do.  We have not been one of the top offenses on the Treasure Coast by accident.

We Will Talk later.
